Where are we aiming at

The aim of the project is to create a simple and wide-reaching educational tool which should respond to the following needs:
Empowering old people to make informed choices regarding their diet and daily habits.
Ensuring that consumers, especially the most vulnerable (older part of the population), are not misled by advertising and daily communication on food and healthy lifestyles.
Developing and delivering simple and clear messages on food and healthy lifestyles.
The first two aims of the project will be reached by developing a Training System (called “EHLE”) which will provide professionals and volunteers working with older persons and the elderly working in elderly citizens' organizations with knowledge and competences (technical and relational) that should enable them to understand, guide and respond to this part of the population when it comes to choosing among healthy food and nutrition choices or to adopting healthier lifestyles.
The challenging part of the project will be to find out a common learning tool which may be used by both professionals (therefore people who may have basic competences on the topics of the project) and volunteers (the civil part of the target group) to respond to these needs.
The third aim will be achieved by developing a Training Toolbox which should contain also relevant content to be provided to the final beneficiaries (old people).

What we expect to achieve

To develop a Training Concept developed in 4 partner countries: Italy, Holland, France and Spain.
The Training Concept will be structured into 4 “knowledge modules”:
  • Food and nutrition
  • Use of medications
  • Physical activity
  • Daily habits (tobacco, alcohol, other risk factors).
A Training Toolbox produced on the base of the Training Concept will be distributed in the territory to all the professional and people working directly with older persons.
